Does Black Widow require an Internet connection?
Many core cutting functions can be used without an Internet connection. Key-code lookup and progression features require connectivity.
Can Black Widow engrave?
No — engraving is not a Black Widow function. Locksmiths who need engraving should evaluate the Lock Labs Triton PLUS platform.
Can it cut residential and commercial keys?
Yes — supported conventional edge-cut residential and commercial keys use the S2 single-sided jaw, which is included with the Deluxe Bundle and available separately.
Can it cut Tibbe keys?
Supported Ford and Jaguar 6-cut and 8-cut Tibbe applications use the optional S4 Tibbe jaw.
Can it cut tubular keys?
Supported tubular profiles — vending, motorcycle, equipment and cabinet applications — use the optional S3 tubular jaw.
Can it cut dimple keys?
Supported dimple applications use the included S1 jaw with optional dimple tooling — dimple cutters and a dimple decoder, specified by Black Widow for the profile.
What jaw is included?
The S1 four-way automotive jaw is included with every Black Widow, along with two standard decoders and 2.0 mm and 1.5 mm cutters.
What's the difference between Essentials and Deluxe?
Essentials is the core automotive setup controlled from your own compatible device. Deluxe adds the S2 jaw for residential/commercial edge-cut work, commercial key-cutting software, an Android tablet, tablet stand and bench mounting kit. Compare packages.
Does it have an internal battery?
No. Battery operation uses an optional external battery — alongside the included 110V setup and optional 12V vehicle power, you choose the power source that fits the job.
Can it run from a vehicle?
Yes — optional 12V vehicle power lets you run Black Widow from a service vehicle.
Can I use my own phone or tablet?
Yes — Black Widow is controlled from a compatible Android or iOS device over Bluetooth. Deluxe includes a dedicated Android tablet if you prefer a machine-only device.
Which Black Widow app do I need?
Check your serial: EW2111 or higher uses Black Widow V2; EW2110 or lower uses V1. Both are on Google Play and the App Store — links here.
How long is the warranty?
Black Widow is backed by a 2-year limited manufacturer warranty on covered parts and labor. Warranty eligibility is verified using the machine serial number and purchase information. Warranty details.

How often should I calibrate?
Calibration is a routine part of ownership — the app includes a Calibration menu and the machine ships with a calibration adapter. Follow the in-app and manual calibration guidance for your setup.
